ECC Baseball Earns NJCAA Academic Team of Year Honor; 11 Players Also Honored for Academics

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- With a team grade point average of 3.36, the Ellsworth Community College baseball team was named an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year.  And 11 Panther baseball players earned spots on one of the three All-Academic Teams for their work in the classroom.  Players on the 1st team had GPAs of 4.0, those on the 2nd team had GPAs of 3.8 to 3.99, and 3rd team members were those with GPAs between 3.6 and 3.79.

Jalen Aguiniga, Gabriel Monosmith and Memphis Moore were the ECC players with a 4.0 grade point average and made the 1st team.  Aguiniga, a sophomore, is on the All-Academic Team for the 2nd year in a row.  

On the 2nd team are sophomores Daviel Camacho, Nick Chasey and Connor Cox and freshman George Hansen.  3rd Team members are sophomore Diego Dinzey along with freshmen Jordan Laden, Evan Miller and Kaden Stewart.  Both Cox and Dinzey are also on the All-Academic Team for the 2nd consecutive year.

This is the 4th year in a row that the ECC baseball team was named an NJCAA Academic Team of the Year.

Ellsworth Community College saw its baseball, men's basketball, softball, volleyball and women's wrestling teams all named Academic Teams of the Year and 37 ECC student-athletes made one of the NJCAA All-Academic Teams.
