IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- With a team grade point average of 3.13, the Ellsworth CC baseball team earned distinction as a 2020-21 NJCAA Academic Team of the Year.  And 11 players were honored as All-Academic Team members.  

Carlos Aranda was named to the All-Academic First Team with his grade point average of 4.0.  Nicolas Boscan, Diego Dinzey and Ybrahim Quevedo made the NJCAA Second Team with GPAs between 3.80 and 3.99. Miguel Baez, Broderick Bittle, Zach Carlsen, Bryce Hall, Charlie Jaeger, Jason Moist and Alexander Walton were on the Third Team with GPAs between 3.60 and 3.79.

To be an Academic Team of the Year, a squad needed a team GPA of 3.0 or better.

In all, Ellsworth had four of its teams garner Academic Team of the Year honors and 28 individuals were named All-Academic for the year.
