Truso Wins Gold Glove Award

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Ellsworth CC shortstop TJ Truso has been named one of the top defensive players in the country among NJCAA schools.  Truso earned an ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award determined by the NJCAA Division II Baseball Committee.  The Panthers standout is one of only nine players in DII given the prestigious Gold Glove Award, which has long been synonymous with defensive excellence.

Truso, who was earlier named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, had a fielding percentage of .952 that was slightly higher (.960) in conference games, and dazzled all season long according to ECC head coach Samuel Vega.  Truso also contributed on offense, batting .252 with 34 runs scored, 12 doubles, 27 walks and 15 stolen bases, a total that was second on the Panthers.
