Cold Second Half Hurts ECC Men

Iowa Falls, Iowa -- Ellsworth played visiting Iowa Lakes on near-even terms for the first 20 minutes but the Lakers pulled away in the second half for a 72-49 win at Dittmer Gymnasium Wednesday night.  It was 28-25 at intermission, then ECC was outscored, 44-24, in the second half.

The Panthers were limited to a season-low six 3-pointers and Iowa Lakes did most of its damage inside the arc as the ECC defense allowed only three made threes.  Ellsworth connected on just 36 percent of their field goal attempts and just 50 percent of their free throws.

Josh Kamara and Tony Alexander topped the ECC scoring with a dozen points each.  Alexander drained three 3s.  Junior Bodden grabbed six rebounds to lead the Panthers in that category.

Ellsworth plays at Southwestern CC Saturday afternoon.
