The Ellsworth Community College men's basketball team played Dakota County Technical College for the third time this season on Tuesday, Jan. 14 in Iowa Falls.

The first two times the Blue Knights won but the third time was the charm as the Panthers won 96-72.

ECC sprinted out to a 14-point (44-30) lead in the first half, hitting eight triples including a buzzer beating half court heave by Sam Urness. In the second half, shots continued to fall as they pulled away.

The Panthers were led by Josh Donaldson with 23 points and Tony Eddy with 21. Adam Jackson (17) and Alec Oberhauser (12) were also in double figures for ECC.

On Saturday, Jan. 18 the Panthers hosted No. 10 NIACC and came within three points of the upset before falling 84-81.

Eddy had a career-high 30 points for the Panthers with Jackson (17) and Oberhauser (14) also in double figures. Kevin Rewoldt finished with a season-high 13 rebounds.

That was the start of a string of rated foes for ECC as they head to No. 12 Kirkwood on Wednesday and No. 15 Iowa Lakes on Saturday.
