Ellsworth Community College men’s basketball has added three players for the upcoming 2018-19 season. The Panthers signed Byron Brown and Keaton Taylor from Lamar Consolidated High School in Texas and Joniell Quiones from B-You Academy in Puerto Rico.
The Ellsworth Community College duo of fast paced scoring guard Darius Lasley and the physical quickness of forward LaVeechie Williams have signed to continue their academic and athletic careers at Clarke University in Dubuque, IA.
The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) announced honorees for 2017-18 All-Region teams, and three Ellsworth Community College men’s basketball players were named to the 1st Team, 2nd Team, and Honorable Mention Team.
The Ellsworth Community College men’s basketball team is excited to announce the signing of local basketball standout Kevin Rewoldt. Rewoldt is a 6’7 forward from South Hardin who averaged 14.4 points and 14.3 rebounds per game this past season. He also shot 58% from the field and had 33 blocks.
The Ellsworth Community College men’s basketball team came to its Feb. 28 game against #2 Kirkwood read to play. The two teams went point for point during regulation, with both tallying 34 points in the first half and 35 point in the second half. It was all ECC in overtime, though, as the Panthers outscored Kirkwood 12-7 to take the 81-76 win.
The Ellsworth Community College men’s basketball team has started the season with a 6-2 record, including a recent 72-68 win over Marshalltown Community College. For his efforts in this game, sophomore Darius Lasley, was awarded Iowa Community College Athletic Association (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors.
Ellsworth Community College will host the Dale Howard Classic this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10 & 11. Four men’s and women’s teams will be in attendance, including the Ellsworth Panthers.
