The Ellsworth Community College men's basketball team has started the season with a 6-2 record, including a recent 72-68 win over Marshalltown Community College. For his efforts in this game, sophomore Darius Lasley, was awarded Iowa Community College Athletic Association (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors.

In the game against MCC Lasley shot 8 for 12 from the field including 4 of 5 from the three-point range. He had a total of 21 points along with three rebounds and one assist. He also had no turnovers in the 32 minutes he played in the game.

Lasley, from Tama, IA, is averaging 15.3 points per game this season, shooting 64.1% and 48% from three point. He is also 82.4% from the free throw line and averages 3.8 rebounds per game and 4.4 assists per game.  

The ECC men play next on the road against St. John's University JV on Friday, Dec. 1, with a 6 pm tip-off.
