Panthers win in overtime over DMACC

The Ellsworth Community College men's basketball team came out on top of a close matchup with DMACC this past Saturday, posting a 75-71 overtime win.

The Panthers went in to halftime down 38-32 but put in the work to take the game into overtime tied up at 65. The Panthers outscored DMACC 10-6 in overtime to get the win.

Mo Arrington stepped up his play in all areas to ensure the ECC victory. He led the team with 18 points, as well as contributing 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Keeon Johnson had five assists for ECC, and LaVeechie Williams was second in scoring with 15 points.

Both DMACC and ECC shot 46.7% from the field. Stats for both teams were close, but the difference-maker was that ECC's bench outscored DMACC's 32-8.

"It was a team effort that got us this win," commented ECC Head Coach Troy Muilenburg. "We had so many guys step up throughout the game and in overtime. It was really the difference in the ballgame down the stretch."

ECC will host Dakota County Technical College on Wednesday, Feb. 1, with tip off at 7:30 pm.
