IOWA FALLS – Ellsworth Community College picked up a big 34-9 win over Iowa Lakes on Wednesday night in front of a home crowd, evening the Panthers dual record to 2-2.

ECC won eight weights on their way to the victory, starting with a 9-7 by Dennis McNeal at 125. Hector Candelaria followed that up with a 13-6 decision at 133 – after trailing 6-2 in the first period.

Justin Maynard earned a 16-12 decision. Justin Henry (174) earned a pin, Rozell Baker (184) a 17-3 major decision, Trayvonne Jackson (197) a 7-4 decision and the Panthers ended the meet with a pin by Darrell Mason at 285.

The eighth-ranked ECC brought 10 wrestlers to the Buena Vista open on Saturday and came back with three medalist. The highest places went to Quentrevion Campbell at 141 and Mason at 285 – both taking fourth. The Panthers won 15 of 35 matches wrestled, with Campbell and Mason both going 3-2.
