The Ellsworth Community College wrestling team is now ranked number eight in the nation.

Along with the team ranking, the Panthers have several individuals ranked via compilations made by the NJCAA Wrestling Coaches Association. The individual ranked Panther wrestlers (with weight class and national ranking in parentheses) include DeShun Brown (125 lbs. – 7); Jamarius Jackson (133 lbs. – 9); Saidyokub Kakhramanov (141 lbs. – 12); Kevin Cooper (149 lbs. – 9); Leivon Lewis (157 lbs. – 8); Matthew Rodriguez-Kirkland (165 lbs. – 9); Sadarriss Patterson (174 lbs. – 8); Mat Hurford (184 lbs. – 3); Sharod Wilson (197 lbs. – 6); and Dalonte Holland (285 lbs. – 10).

The Panthers' next meet will be on Saturday, Jan. 10, as they open National Duals vs. Labette at Fort Wayne, IN. The Panthers hosted Labette first semester and lost 20-19. They will return home on Jan. 15 for a 7 pm dual match against Iowa Lakes.
