IOWA FALLS – There have been some bright spots for the Ellsworth Community College women's basketball team this week. The Panthers hosted Wartburg JV on Wednesday and Marshalltown Community College on Saturday. Though they lost both, they saw improvements in each game.

In the 66-30 loss to the Knights, ECC had their best defensive effort – holding a team to its lowest total of the season. The Panthers were led offensively by Ellie Barrows with 11 and Bailey Stroud with seven. Against the Tigers, ECC lost 85-52, but had one of its better offensive games so far this year. Barrows had a huge game, knocking down nine three pointers on her way to 32 points.

The Panthers are on the road this Tuesday at Minnesota West.
