ECC women's basketball drops fast pace game

Ellsworth Community College women's basketball team hosted North Iowa Area Community College on Saturday, Feb. 21, in a high tempo game that ECC ended up losing. 

After a few quick buckets by the Panthers, NIACC was able to pull ahead and go into the half with a 40-27 lead. The second half of the game continued at a fast pace, with both teams shooting a high number of three-point shots.  By the end of the game, both teams combined to shoot 59 attempts from beyond the arc. NIACC was able to maintain its lead, leaving with an 87-64 victory. 

Ellsworth was led by Keziah Lewis with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Ashley Gates added 15 points and 8 rebounds, Chantelle Rumph added 15 points, and Justice Thigpen had a season high 7 assists along with 3 steals.

ECC has only two regular season games remaining. The Panthers will play Iowa Lakes on the road on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 5:30 pm and finish with a home game on Saturday, Feb. 28, against DMACC at 1 pm. The College will honor graduating sophomores at the Feb. 28th home game.
