The Ellsworth Community College Women's Basketball team presented a donation check for $500 to the American Heart Association this week, proceeds from it's 2014 Red Out Campaign. The Hansen Family Hospital contributed another $750 on behalf of the College, bringing the total ECC/Hospital contribution to $1,250.

Amy Knoll, AHA Youth Market Director, said that every $50 donation to the AHA saves a life, with most of the money going to research and education.  

ECC Women's Basketball Head Coach Ed Geitz said his athletes will participate in the fundraiser again next year, with goals of including other teams and increasing the Panthers' contribution amount for 2015.
