Ellsworth Community College softball player Mekenzie Wright from Platte, MO has been named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week after she went six for six during the Panthers opening weekend against Lake Region State and Marshalltown Community College. The sophomore scored four runs, hit one home run, two doubles, had five RBIs, and stole a base during the games.

"It was great see Mekenzie have a successful first weekend," said ECC's Head Softball coach, Kristi Larson. "She worked hard and really focued during Sundays games to get some great hits for us."

The Panthers will be traveling to Austin, MN this weekend to take on Indian Hills and Bryant & Stratton College on Saturday and will play Kirkwood Community College and Rock Valley Community College on Sunday.
