ECC softball offering two camps in February & March

The Ellsworth Community College softball program will be offering two great opportunities for area youth to participate in camps this February and March.

The first camp will be offered on Sunday, Feb. 21, for 3rd through 7th grade students.  The camp will focus on teaching correct mechanics in all areas of softball including offense, defense, base running, the mental game, and specific game situations.

"This camp will leave players feeling knowledgeable and confident in their skills," commented ECC Head Softball Coach Kayla Farnsworth. "They will be ready to dominate this upcoming season." The cost of the Feb. 21 camp will be $40.

The second camp, an ECC Softball Showcase, will be held on Sunday, March 6, for 8th through 12th  grade students. This camp will focus on teaching advanced skill sets in offense, defense, base running and game situations.

This camp will also offer the chance to participate in highlight video clips for campers interested in beginning the recruiting process, with an emphasis on gaining a mental advantage over your opponent. The cost of the Mar. 6 camp will be $50.

Both camps will be taught by ECC softball players and coaching staff. All concepts for both camps are derived from the 2016 National Coaches Clinic. Camps will be held from 11 am to 1:45 pm in the Dale Howard Family Activity Center gym.

For questions and to register for the camps, contact Coach Farnsworth 641-648-6200 or Kayla.Farnsworth@iavalley.edu. Registration forms can also be found at ECCAthletics.com under the Camps heading.
