ECC golfers compete with wind

The Ellsworth Community College men's golf team participated in the Region XI Fall Preview on Oct. 11 & 12 for a windy competition, but the weather didn't stop the Panther golfers from finishing strongly against their competitors.

Anibal Reinoso finished 14th overall with a two-day total of 160. He shot an 81 on the first day and 79 on the second day. Sam Miller started out a little slow for ECC but had a strong finish on the front 9.

"This was a lot more challenging weekend for our golfers," commented ECC Head Golf Coach Nate Forsyth. "The conditions with the wind made the two-day tournament very challenging for everyone. Overall I am pleased with where we are at with both the men's and women's programs right now. We have a lot of work to do this winter and spring to get ready for the spring season. I saw some very encouraging things this fall with everyone's game. We need to continue to build on the positives. I am looking forward to a very good spring season."

The meet was hosted by Iowa Lakes at Lake Panorama National Golf Course. This is the same course that Regional Championships will be held at in this spring.
