The Ellsworth Panthers Baseball team put up big numbers in their series win over Iowa Lakes last week. One player, in particular, had quite the showing – Tanner Short. Short was the leader for the Panthers inside the batter's box with a batting average of .583 going 14-24 in six games. In the Panthers victory over Iowa Lakes, Short went 6 for 6 with two homers and six RBIs. Short also walked once and touched home plate six times. During a three-game stretch, Short went 12 for 15 with four home runs, 12 RBIs, and 9 runs scored. Those impressive stats helped boost Short's numbers on the year to a .379 batting average, 8 home runs, 28 RBIs, and 28 runs scored.
