Ellsworth Community College pitcher Connor Grant of Dubuque, IA, has committed to the University of Iowa. The Panther pitcher graduated from ECC on May 10, 2014, and is looking forward to becoming a Hawkeye this fall.

Grant was a big asset to the Panthers this season. He had eight saves, tying him for sixth in the country for junior colleges. He also received second team All-Region honors as a relief pitcher.

"I couldn't be more excited for Connor about this opportunity. He has earned it," commented ECC Head Baseball Coach Travis Akre. "Iowa is getting an exceptional player and even better person. We wish him nothing but continued success!"

Connor is the son of Don and Shelly Grant. His brother, Jase, will continue the Ellsworth tradition by playing baseball for the Panthers next year.
