Ellsworth Community College Panther right handed pitcher Rene Colon has committed to transfer to Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. Colon is a native of Florida, Puerto Rico.

Colon is in his second year at ECC. This season he has started in nine games taking the win in four of them. He is currently averaging 4.46 strikeouts per game.

"I am extremely proud of Rene," said ECC Head Baseball Coach Travis Akre. "He has worked very hard for this scholarship and will be a great addition to their program."
