Nate Forsyth is in his 8th year as the Athletic Director at Ellsworth Community College, overseeing seven NJCAA sports at the college as well as the Sports Shooting and Cheer & Dance squads.  He came to ECC prior to the 2006-07 academic year and also serves as the Student Life Director at Ellsworth.  During his time at ECC Forsyth has been instrumental in making improvements to the athletic facilities and on-campus student housing, including the installation of a new artificial turf surface at the football field that Ellsworth shares with Iowa Falls High School.

Forsyth is currently the head softball coach for the Panthers, and previously had stints as the head baseball coach -- a position he held for nine seasons -- and head golf coach for the 2015 season.  In his current AD role, Forsyth is also the Assistant Men's Region XI Director in Iowa and serves on the National Junior College Athletic Association committees for baseball, men's basketball and championship events.

The summer before he arrived at Ellsworth, Forsyth coached a team of college-age baseball players in a league in Omaha, Nebraska.  Before that he was the Recruiting Coordinator at Ashford Univesity and worked as an assistant baseball coach and admissions representative at Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa.  He also has experience as an assistant baseball coach at Vinton-Shellsburg High School.

Forsyth earned his bachelor's degree from Mount Saint Claire College and played for the Mounties baseball team while he was a student there.  He later received his master's degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine in California.

A graduate of Vinton-Shellsburg High School, Forsyth was an all-district football player in high school while starting at quarterback for two seasons.  He was also a state qualifier in swimming.  In baseball, Forsyth started for three years, was an All-Conference choice as a senior and played on a state championship team, a squad that was later inducted into the school's Hall of Fame.

Forsyth and his wife, Shawna, are the parents of a son, Aiden, and he enjoys fishing in his spare time.
