IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- On the first night of official competition for the new Ellsworth CC women's wrestling team, Shaylee Van Den Berg and Eliette Gomez-Perez recorded victories in a meet against Iowa Central CC.

Ven Den Berg got the first win for an ECC women's wrestler, defeating her opponent, 15-13.  Gomez-Perez won her initial match by fall in 1:30.

The two Panthers wrestled twice on the night and each lost their second bout.  Both were defeated by falls.

The other Ellsworth competitor for the night was Miranda McClellan and she was pinned in her lone match.

The ECC women are slated to take part in the Waldorf Open this Saturday.
