IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Although showing improvement in almost every area, the Ellsworth volleyball team couldn't get past Marshalltown CC on Thursday night, losing to the Tigers for the 2nd time this season.  The teams split the first 2 sets -- MCC winning 25-19 and ECC 25-21 -- before Marshalltown took the next 2 sets, 25-16 and 25-19.

Ellsworth amassed 38 kills on the night, led by 9 each from Yanilette Diaz and Audrey Melson.  Setter Nuria Bravo Santos had 32 assists and 12 digs.  Alondra Acevedo topped ECC with her 17 digs and Jada Smith had 11.  Dylann Stephenson served 3 aces and Faith Lobo and Stephenson were both in on 3 blocks.

ECC goes on the road Monday night to take on the Wartburg JV, looking to avenge an earlier 3-2 loss.
