Panthers Knock Off Wartburg JV

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- The Ellsworth volleyball team overcame an early deficit to come back and defeat the Wartburg College JV in four sets Monday night.  The visitors escaped with a 25-23 decision to open the match, but the Panthers regrouped and won the next three sets, 25-17, 25-22, 25-23 on Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Ditmer Gym.

Gabi Damiano had a strong overall effort for ECC, leading the team in kills with 13 and digs with 25.  She also served three of the Panthers' seven aces.  Hanna Forge was in double figures in both assists with 28 and digs with 12.  The assists total was a season-high for Hanna and the kills number for Gabi was one off her season-best.

Haley Forge complemented Damiano's kills with 11 and Emma Rosonke added seven kills and led the team in hitting with a .412 mark.  She also had three ace serves.  Alondra Acevedo and Haley Forge each had nine digs.

Ellsworth travels to Mason City to face NIACC in a conference match on Wednesday night.
