Ellsworth Community College's 141-pound freshman wrestler, Nick Koch, has emerged as a standout performer, showcasing an outstanding performance at the Morton Quad and the Battle for the Helmet tournament.

In mid-December, Koch asserted his dominance at the Morton Quad by securing victories in both of his matches. He displayed exceptional skill and technique, defeating Morton's Luke Kawa with an impressive 18-1 tech fall. Furthermore, wrestling at 149, he achieved another resounding tech fall victory, defeating Iowa Lakes' Elijah Broesder 15-0 in that dual.

The Battle for the Helmet tournament, hosted by NIACC, provided another opportunity for Nick Koch to shine. Koch went 3-1 in the tournament, claiming the third-place position. His journey included a pin, a major decision, and a decision, showcasing his versatility and determination on the mat.

With these remarkable accomplishments, Nick Koch has compiled an impressive overall season record of 21 wins and 6 losses for the Panthers. His dedication and consistent performance have not only contributed to his personal success but have also added valuable points to Ellsworth Community College's wrestling team.
