IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- After trailing midway through their ICCACC dual with Iowa Lakes on Wednesday night, the Ellsworth Panthers ran off 4 straight victories with 3 pins and a major decision to defeat the Lakers, 30-24.
With his team behind 18-8, Triston Barncastle started the Panthers' comeback with a pin in 2:41 at 165 pounds. Giles Cowell followed with a major decision, 16-2, at 174. ECC then got back-to-back pins from Brent Greenfield at 184 and Kaleb Homan at 197 to clinch the win.
The other Ellsworth wins came from Kael Glenn, 16-13 at 141, and Nick Koch, a 21-6 tech fall in the 149 pound match.
The Panthers were wrestling for the first time under interim head coach Nate Alvarez, who took over for Victor Coronado after he resigned on Sunday.
ECC goes to the Doane Open in Crete, Nebraska, on Saturday.
