Two ECC Champs at Doane Open

CRETE, NEBRASKA -- Nate Lendt and Mirzo Khayitov won championships and three other Ellsworth wrestlers had top-3 finishes at the Conner-Oppenheim Open at Doane University on Saturday.  Diego Isiordia was 2nd and Kaden Karns and Zeth Strejc were 3rd for the Panthers.  Ellsworth racked up 12 falls on the day and 9 different Panthers had at least one pin. ECC wrestlers won 30 matches.

ECC Results:

125 - Kaden Karns (4-1) won two falls (one in 3rd place match) and two decisions

133 - Zeth Strejc (4-1) won one fall, two major decisions and one decision

141 - Ryan Graves (1-2) won one fall

141 - Evan Barajas (1-2) won one decision

141 - Devan Martin (1-2) won one decision

149 - Nate Lendt (5-0) won two falls, two major decisions and one decision (12-2 decision in finals)

157 - Diego Isiordia (4-1) won one fall and three decisions (lost 11-5 decision in finals)

165 - Mirzo Khayitov (5-0) won one fall, one technical fall, and three decisions (won 13-6 decision in finals)

174 - Nolan Craine (2-2) won one fall and one major decision

184 - Jared Landsperger (0-2) lost a fall and a major decision 

184 - Ethan Miller (0-2) lost two decisions

197 - Isaiah Laguna (1-2) won one decision

285 - Larry Everfield (2-2) won two falls

285 - Brennan Davis (0-2) lost a fall and a decision

The Panthers will wrestle a dual meet at Triton (Ill.) College on Dec. 10.
