DES MOINES, IOWA -- Ellsworth CC had 14 entrants in the huge Grand View Open on Saturday and 13 of the 14 won at least one match, including two who placed among the top five.  The event drew more than 450 wrestlers from over 40 schools with an opportunity for all the participants to get plenty of early-season action in a tournament format.

ECC had two wrestlers place at 149 pounds.  Lane Reardon lost a third-place match to wind up 4th at that weight; Reardon was to meet teammate Nate Lendt in the consolation bracket at 149 after that loss, but Lendt had already met his six-match limit for the day so Reardon and Lendt finished 4th and 5th, respectively.

The Panthers will wrestle in an ICCAC dual at Indian Hills on Wednesday night and will go to Minnesota West CC for another dual this Friday.
