No. 1 DMACC Handcuffs Ellsworth

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- DMACC, the top-rated team in the country in the latest NJCAA DII softball rankings, showed Ellsworth why it is deserving of that lofty spot with a doubleheader sweep on Wednesday, beating the Panthers, 11-1 and 13-1.

ECC was limited to 3 hits in game one, singles by Meghan Danielson, Bailey Wilder and Lili Ruiz.  Ruiz knocked in Danielson with the lone Ellsworth run.  Delaney Vetter went the distance in the circle and took the loss.

Game two saw the Panthers held to just a single by Maggie BraniffNevaeh Dice drove in Grace Gordon for the only score for ECC.  Asa Kesinger gave the Panthers 3 good innings in relief of starting pitcher Cheyanne Collins.  Kesinger permitted 2 hits and an unearned run in 3 frames.

The Panthers will go to Cedar Rapids on Friday to play two games against the Mt. Mercy junior varsity.
