IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Iowa Central CC posted a couple of comeback wins on Sunday to complete a weekend sweep of Ellsworth CC in ICCAC softball.  After winning 7-3 and 9-4 in a Saturday twinbill, ICCC scored late to pull out a 3-2 win in the next day's first game and then spotted ECC a 3-0 lead early in the nightcap before rallying for a 12-4 victory.

The toughest loss of the series for Ellsworth was probably game one on Sunday.  Each team scored in the 1st inning, the Panthers' score coming on an RBI single by Maggie Braniff that scored Lauren BrennanAllyson Sparks doubled home Meghan Danielson in the 2nd to provide ECC with a 2-1 lead, which they held until the 6th inning.  The Tritons pushed a pair of runs across in that inning and held on for the win.  Sparks had 3 hits for Ellsworth, Brennan had 2 and Gintare Paskocimaite, Braniff and Danielson one apiece.

The following contest started with solo homers by Paskocimaite and Brennan in the 1st two innings for a quick ECC lead.  Paskocimaite added a run-scoring double in the 2nd and the Panthers were on top, 3-0.  Iowa Central then erupted for 8 runs in the 3rd and ECC's only run the rest of the way came on Paskocimaite's 7th homer of the season, tying her total for last year.  Brennan and Braniff each stroked 2 hits to go along with Paskomimaite's 3 extra bases knocks.  Brennan was Ellsworth's starting pitcher and was replaced by Abbigail Harding in the 3rd.  Jocelyn Hartley worked the final 2 innings.

On Saturday, Nevaeh Dice had an RBI single in the day's 1st game for a 1-0 advantage.  Run-scoring hits by Dice and Braniff allowed the Panthers to knot the score at 3-all in the 5th, but the Tritons plated 4 in the 6th to snap the tie.  Ellsworth recorded 10 hits, 3 each by Paskocimaite and Braniff and two for both Sparks and Dice.  Delaney Vetter went the distance in the circle and absorbed the loss.

Game two saw ICCC go ahead 7-0 after the 3rd inning.  ECC got 3 of their runs in the 4th and the final score in the 7th.  The runs were scored by Dice, Sparks, Brennan and Grace Gordon, with the RBIs coming from Gordon, Danielson and Bailey Wilder.  Ellsworth pitchers were Cheyanne Collins, Harding and Brennan.  Sparks accounted for 3 hits and Brennan 2.

Next up for the Panthers is a doubleheader at Southwestern CC on Tuesday.
