Ikegwuruka, Efinda Lead 5 All-Region Selections

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Five players from conference postseason champion Ellsworth CC earned spots on the All-Region XI basketball teams announced by the league on Friday.  Chimobi Ikegwuruka and Clinton Efinda were named to the All-Region 1st team, Jaron Crews and Arlandus Keyes were 2nd team picks and Jordan Glenn-Hawkins was on the Honorable Mention list. 

The 1st team choices -- Ikegwuruka and Efinda -- are both natives of Ireland.  Ikegwuruka, a redshirt freshman, led the Panthers in scoring and rebounding while playing in 19 games.  He averaged 18.5 points a game, 19.3 a contest in 16 conference games, along with 9.8 rebounds and has a team-leading 38 blocks.  He has shot 59.8 percent from the field and 72.5 percent from the foul line.  Efinda, a freshman, had averages of 14.7 points and 5.4 rebounds.  His average in league contests was 15.8 and he leads the Panthers in free throws made (144) and attempted (184).

Crews is a sophomore guard from Ankeny who paces ECC in assists with 133, an average of 4.4 per game.  He averages 12.5 points over 30 games and is 2nd in 3-pointers with 56 while shooting 37.6 percent from behind the arc and 82.7 percent on free throws.

Keyes, a sophomore from St. Louis, Missouri, started nearly half of the games for Ellsworth last year.  As a sophomore, he has averaged 13.2 points a game with 119 assists, 2nd on the team, and 47 steals.  Keyes scored 14.6 points in ICCAC contests this year. He is the team leader with his 59 3-pointers.

Glenn-Hawkins, another 2-year player for ECC and 17-game starter a year ago, is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Like his 4 teammates on the All-Region teams, Glenn-Hawkins averages in double figures -- 14.2 in all games, 13.7 in the conference.  He is the team leader in steals with 73 and connected on 55 3s and started a team-best 32 games.
