The Ellsworth Community College Men's basketball team made a powerful statement coming out of the winter break, securing their position as the front runner in the ICCAC Division II standings with a convincing 102-83 victory over #4-ranked DMACC.

In a game that showcased the Panthers' collective strength and depth, seven players scored in double figures, underscoring Ellsworth's well-rounded and formidable roster. Notably, freshman forward Mobi Ikegwuruka delivered an outstanding performance, contributing 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals in the victory.

Ikegwuruka's impact has been undeniable in the past two games, where he averaged an impressive 20.5 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.5 steals. Over a six-game sample size this season, the freshman sensation has maintained an impressive stat line, averaging 21 points on an efficient 64% shooting from the field. In addition to his scoring prowess, Ikegwuruka has showcased versatility with 10.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 2.2 blocks per game.

Ellsworth's dominance extends beyond individual performances, as they remain unbeaten with a perfect 6-0 record in conference play. The Panthers currently boast an impressive overall record of 14-2, securing the fifth spot in the national rankings.
