Fulcher Recognized as 1 of the Top 50 Freshmen in the Country

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- New York City freshman point guard Shawn Fulcher from the Ellsworth CC men's basketball program was recently recognized nationally as one of the top 50 freshmen in the country by JUCOrecruiting.com. He is the only NJCAA DII player on the list.  Fulcher leads the Panthers in scoring and is 3rd in the ICCAC at 16.3 PPG.  Fulcher also sits at number-one in the conference in field goals made, is 3rd in the ICCAC in assists per game and 8th in steals.

According to head coach Bryan Bender, "It is an honor to see Shawn being recognized as one of the top freshman players in the country.  He is by far one of the most talented scorers I have coached in my career and he will be an immediate impact player at the NCAA Division I level next season."

Along with the national recognition, an invitation was also granted to Fulcher to play in the All-American JUCO showcase in Georgia. The invite-only showcase is one of the most prestigious events during the Summer Live period for 4-year coaches.  Last summer, fellow freshman teammates Dior Davis, Bruce Kanno and Saliou Seye participated in the showcase and were also were considered heavily in the Fab 50 freshman list.
