IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Thirteen members of the Ellsworth CC men's basketball team were named to the Fall 2022 Academic All-Region teams announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference office this week.  The academic honor squads are divided into two lists: the 1st team is made up of the student-athletes with grade point averages of 3.5 and above; the 2nd team is those individuals with GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49.  A student-athlete's highest GPA was recognized, either their cumulative GPA or their GPA for the fall semester only.

The ECC men's basketball players who earned 1st team honors are Bruce Gibbs, Clavance Alvares, Danny Lazic, Dior Davis, Ezekiel Thompkins, Guido Klompenmaker, Hemed Khalifa, Jordan Glenn-Hawkins, Mateo Martinez, Sharon Bason and Tarik Islamovic.  On the 2nd team are Andre Fluker and Rich Ashu. 

Of those awarded Fall academic honors, Mateo Martinez was a repeat selection from the 2022 Spring Academic All-Region teams.

Ellsworth CC had a total of 115 student-athletes named to the Fall 2022 Academic All-Region teams in eight different sports.
