MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN -- The Ellsworth men's basketball team completed a season sweep of Bryant & Stratton College Tuesday night, winning on the road, 72-58. The Panthers had opened the season with a homecourt victory against Bryant & Stratton, a school that entered the year as a nationally-ranked squad. ECC won a 72-68 decision back on Nov. 2 at Dittmer Gym.
Tuesday's game was Ellsworth's 5th road test of the year, but their first on their opponent's floor. They grabbed a 30-25 lead at the halftime break and then outscored Bryant & Stratton, 40-33, over the final 20 minutes.
ECC got a spark off the bench from freshman Andres Arellano, who scored 12 points. He made 4 field goals and hit all 4 of his free throws, one of three Panthers to reach double figures. Ra'mir Scott led the way with 15 points and Richie Warren provided a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while also handing out 6 assists. Another strong bench performance came from Denneson Lucas, who picked off 6 rebounds and chipped in 7 points.
The Panthers made over half of their field-goal tries (27-of-53) and 10-of-12 free throws as they improved their season mark to 8-2.
In the final tuneup before ICCAC play begins against Iowa Western on Dec. 1, ECC travels to Minnesota West for a road contest on Nov. 28.
