Ellsworth Football Shut Out by Highland CC

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Highland (Kans.) CC held the Ellsworth offense in check and walked away with a 32-0 victory over the Panthers at Cadet Field on Saturday.  

ECC managed only 106 yards of total offense, 50 passing and 56 rushing as the Panthers were shut out for the 2nd straight game.  They had 6 first downs and were just 3-for-14 on 3rd down.

Highland opened the scoring with a field goal and a safety in the 1st period, added a touchdown in the 2nd, then got a pair of defensive scores in the 2nd half.

QB Brycen Davis was 11-of-25 through the air for Ellsworth.  Nathan Castor and Jaali Parker both caught 3 passes.  Joel Lacy led ECC on the ground with 28 yards.  Robert Harris picked off a couple of passes on defense for the Panthers.  Adrian Palos led the tackle chart with 17 and Jaylon Banks had 7.  Mykell Sutton had 2 tackles for loss and Wyatt Hollingsworth, Justin Long and Jeremiah Gill all had one.

Ellsworth has its homecoming game next Saturday when it hosts Dodge City (Kans.) at Cadet Field.
