IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Thirty-four members of the Ellsworth CC football team were named to the Fall 2022 Academic All-Region teams announced by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference office this week.  The academic honor squads are divided into two lists: the 1st team is made up of the student-athletes with grade point averages of 3.5 and above; the 2nd team is those individuals with GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49.  A student-athlete's highest GPA was recognized, either their cumulative GPA or their GPA for the fall semester only.

The ECC football players who earned 1st team honors are Aghogho Eyafe, Benjamin Acri, Cade Walkingstick, Dan Knudsen, Deion Tawzer, Ernesto Rios, Hunter Murray, Isaac Whisenand, Kaden Bricker, Kariem Al Soufi, Leonardo Araujo De Sa, Malachi Jones, Maurice Vanderwerf, Max Freund, Michael Walker, Miracle Alabi and Sam Freund.  On the 2nd team are Ari Curtis, Chase McKinney, Chris Ndushabandi, Colton Willis, DaMyles Clark Tate, Erastus Antsino, Iyron Young, Jaden Davis, Jaylon Washington, Jeremiah Gill, Josh Bauer, Kmari Watson, Kyandre Anderson-Cobbett, Malcolm Gillie, Mason Walthart, Nigel Cheeks and Stephen Dorsey. 

Of those awarded Fall academic honors, 14 were repeat selections from the 2022 Spring Academic All-Region teams.  They include Aghogho Eyafe, Benjamin Acri, Kariem Al Soufi, Leonardo Araujo De Sa, Max Freund, Miracle Alabi, Sam Freund, Chase McKinney, Colton Willis, Erastus Antsino, Jaden Davis, Jeremiah Gill, Josh Bauer and Malcolm Gillie.

Ellsworth CC had a total of 115 student-athletes named to the Fall 2022 Academic All-Region teams in eight different sports.
