Ellsworth Lands 4 All-Conference Football Players; 20 Are All-Region

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Wide receiver Malcolm Gillie, offensive lineman Deivi Martinez-Abreu, defensive back Jonathan Forson and defensive lineman Malcolm Bryant are the Ellsworth Panthers named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference All-Conference football team.  The 28-player elite squad was selected by the conference coaches and announced Wednesday.

Gillie hauled in 23 passes for 379 yards, an average of 16.5 yards per catch, and caught two touchdown passes this season.  Martinez-Abreu made the all-league team for the second straight year and the ECC center was the anchor of the Panthers' offensive line.  Forson is also a two-time all-ICCAC selection.  This fall he was in on 43 tackles, had two interceptions -- one of which he returned for a TD -- and was a key reason the Panthers had the nation's second-ranked pass defense.  Bryant did a great job of holding down the defensive line with his 10 tackles for loss and 8 1/2 sacks, a total which led the conference and was 6th in the NJCAA.  Bryant also forced three fumbles.

The ICCAC also released the All-Region football teams with ECC garnering 7 spots on both the first and second teams and six more on the honorable mention list.

The Panthers chosen for the first team include quarterback Josh Bauer, running back Marice Whitlock, Gillie at wide receiver, Darrius Jackson, also at wide receiver, as well as Martinez-Abreu, Forson and Bryant, the All-Conference picks along with Gillie.

The second team members are defensive linemen Tanner Cromer, Jaden Davis and De'alo McGee, offensive linemen Tavian Hobson and Kenyon Boyd, linebacker Michael Newman and defensive back TJ Bailey.

The ECC players tapped for honorable mention are running back Cade Flaugh, wide receiver Aghogho Eyafe, defensive lineman Josaphat Tamatekou, offensive lineman Liam Stone, and defensive backs Marvin Woods and Dedrick Flint
