Shalynn Hanson is entering her first year as Head Cheerleading/Dance coach at Ellsworth Community College. We decided to ask her some questions just to get to know her better.

How many years of coaching experience do you have?

1-year coaching dance at a dance studio ages 2-16 & 1-year student coaching cheer at the University of Northern Iowa.

Could you tell us some of your accomplishments?

State dance championships through Iowa Central Dance team 2017-2019. 

Where did you attend college?

Attended Iowa Central Community College and the University of Northern Iowa. Majored in Social Work with a minor in Criminology.

Do you have any collegiate awards or honors?

Student coach/captain of University of Northern Iowa Cheer.

Where did you attend High School?

Fort Dodge Senior High, Fort Dodge Iowa. 

Do you have any high school awards or honors?

I was in cheer, dance, and color guard in high school. Won state cheer stunt group in 4A division 2016. I was also a 3-year All-American cheerleader! 

Any other fun facts or information about yourself?

I have 2 cats named Winnie and Rizzo! I love to hang out with my niece and nephews! I am currently working again at United All Stars dance and cheer studio/gym coaching dance!
