Cearley signs with ECC Dance

IOWA FALLS - Ellsworth Community College Dance Team recently signed local talent Katie Cearley to their 2021-22 roster.

Cearley is one of three – Kailee Ann Meyer and Mikaylan Winters – 2021 Iowa Falls-Alden graduates to sign with Panther head coach Aubree Gilbreth. Having worked with each other for the past few years, Cearley said she felt more comfortable joining the ECC dance crew.

In all, Gilbreth has one returner and five newcomers to this year's team. But, she is still looking to grow.

"I have six now, but I am still looking for more," Gilbreth said. "I would like to have 20 at least, but this is only my third year so it's going to take a while. As long as we're moving forward every year."

It was Cearley's extensive background in dance and positive attitude that really made her a good fit. She has been dancing since she was a toddler.

Her favorite skill is pom and she's excited to do a lot more of it and perform at more sporting events.

"In high school, we only performed at a couple of football games and basketball games so just knowing that I can probably make friends from going to more of them and dancing… I'm excited for that," Cearley said.
