Meyer and Winters commit to ECC Dance

IOWA FALLS – The Ellsworth Community College Dance Team added two local recruits to the roster recently, Iowa Falls-Alden dancers Kailee Ann Meyer and Mikaylan Winters.

Meyer has been dancing for 10 years. She was doing studio and then middle school and four years of high school. It wasn't until her junior year that she thought about dancing at the college level. After taking a college visit to ECC – it just felt like a good fit. But it was the connection she had with head coach Aubree Gilbreth that made it feel like home.

Winters has been dancing since she was four or five. She's been through studio, drill team and has been on the IF-A high school team all four years.  It's the feeling she gets dancing and performing that has kept her going all these years.

The fact that both Meyer and Winters have a long background in dancing is something that stood out to Gilbreth – as well as their Cadet connection.

"They are just very strong leaders and hoping the can continue to do what they love at ECC and help me grow. They are going to be great," Gilbreth said. "They already know how I like to coach, they have years of experience and I think they are going to bring some good attributes to the team as in being leaders and kind of knowing what to expect."
