SCC Deals ECC Baseball Two Defeats

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Southeastern CC handed the Ellsworth Panthers a pair of defeats in ICCAC baseball action on Wednesday.  The Panthers were shut out for the 5th time in the last 7 games in the opener, losing 7-0, and when they finally got the offense going in the 2nd game the ECC pitching couldn't hold SCC in check in a 22-7 loss.

Ellsworth was held to just 4 hits in game one -- doubles by Jose Valentin and Nick Chasey, and a couple of singles by Dariel ColonLogan Fragomeni and Jake English split the pitching duties with Fragomeni making his first start of the season.  He allowed 2 earned runs in 3 2/3 innings and English gave up 2 earned in 3 1/3 innings.

The Panthers' Jose Roche drove in 4 runs and homered in the 2nd game and Colon had another 2-hit game, scored twice and knocked in a run.  Tanner Short provided a single and a double.  But 6 ECC pitchers failed to contain the Southeastern offense.  Connor Cox started and was followed to the mound by Hadniel Payamps, Kaden Stewart, Memphis Moore, Evan Becker and Dane Littell.

ECC looks to get back on track when they host Iowa Central CC in a 3-game series this weekend that will conclude the regular season schedule.  There will be 2 games Saturday and 1 Sunday.
