Big Inning Lifts Indian Hills Over ECC Baseball

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Ellsworth CC saw Indian Hills break a 5-all deadlock with 3 runs in the 5th inning and the visitors then put a 7-spot on the board in the 6th as they pulled away for an 18-8 victory on Tuesday.

ECC had knotted the score at 5-5 in the bottom of the 4th before Indian Hills' 10-run burst.

Tanner Short and Jose Valentin continued their scorching hitting for the Panthers.  Short slugged a pair of triples and his 12th homer with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.  Valentin also had 3 hits, including his 11th home run, and 2 RBIs.  Daviel Camacho stroked 2 hits and Sergio Natera scored twice.  The Panthers used 4 pitchers with starter Jake English taking the loss.  He went 4 1/3 innings.  Kaden Stewart, Memphis Moore and Ethan Whitham all came on in relief.

The Panthers were charged with 7 errors which led to 8 unearned runs.

Ellsworth goes to Southeastern CC for a single game Wednesday.
