FORT DODGE, IOWA -- NIACC built an insurmountable early lead and coasted to a 14-4 victory over Ellsworth in the ICCAC opener for both teams on Wednesday.
The Trojans put 5 runs on the board in the 1st inning, added 4 more in the 4th and led 11-0 before the Panthers tallied 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th, 3 of the runs courtesy of a Daviel Camacho home run. Sergio Natera had a pair of doubles and Tressin Kussmaul-Heisz a double and a single for ECC. Jose Valentin, Nick Chasey, Jean Melean and Jose Roche each had a hit.
Ellsworth used 6 pitchers. Starter Jake English went the first 3 1/3 innings and was followed to the hill by Kaden Stewart, Logan Fragomeni, Memphis Moore, Carter Arends and Dane Littell. Moore was the only one who didn't allow a run.
The Panthers will play a 3-game series at home against Southwestern CC this weekend with a doubleheader Saturday and a single game on Sunday.
