Ellsworth secured the 4-game series sweep over Dawson (Mont.) last week thanks to the efforts of Jose Valentin. The first baseman for the Panthers went 9-13 with three doubles, eight RBIs, and seven runs scored. Valentin walked four times and stole a base as well. For the series his slash line was .692/.765/.923. The sophomore from Ellsworth is currently third in the ICCAC DII baseball hitting .452. Valentin has secured a hit in every game but one, and is currently on a 12-game hitting streak. During his impressive showing last week, Valentin had an RBI in every game, and two in each of his last three games. This season, in 42 at-bats, Valentin has struck out just three times.
