Panther Baseball Thumped by Iowa Central

FORT DODGE, IOWA -- Iowa Central CC took a 5-2 lead after 4 innings and then pulled away with a 7-run 6th inning to beat Ellsworth CC, 15-5, in a battle between 2 ICCAC foes on Wednesday.

ECC had 9 hits in the contest, 2 by leadoff hitter Sergie Natera and 2 by number-two batter Kristian CrespoJose Valentin, Nick Chasey, Tanner Short, Daviel Camacho and Jordan Laden each had a hit.  Natera drove in a pair of runs.  

Ellsworth used 8 pitchers with the 1st 3 -- Will Johnson, Evan Becker and Dane Littell -- giving up no earned runs.  Five of the Panthers pitchers threw an inning each and the final 3 combined for the last 4 outs.  In all, ECC pitching gave up 13 hits and 11 walks and 11 of the 15 ICCC runs were earned.

The Panthers will head to Illinois this weekend for 4 games against Shawnee CC.
