ECC Volleyball Competes in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA -- The Ellsworth CC volleyball team went on the road Thursday to take on Kirkwood CC, the highest-ranked team in the ICCAC in the latest NJCAA poll.  For the second time this season, the Eagles registered a 3-0 win against the Panthers, taking the sets 25-14, 25-12 and 25-13.

Gabi Damiano led the Panthers at the net with her seven kills, one more than teammate Haley Forge. Setter Vitoria Kazanovski had 21 assists.  Ellsworth (3-7) combined for 53 digs with Kaitlyn Baer and Damiano pacing ECC with 13 apiece and Kazanovski adding 12.  It was the 5th consecutive match with 10 or more digs for Damiano.

Ellsworth will have two matches next week -- at home against NIACC on Wednesday and at Southeastern Friday.  Panthers will get a chance to avenge a tough 3-2 loss from earier in the season when they take on SCC.
