Panther Wrestling introduces Assistant Coach Derrick Booth

Panther wrestling would like to introduce Assistant Wrestling Coach Derrick Booth.  Booth received his AA from North Idaho College and his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Coker University in Hartsville, South Carolina.  Coach Booth is currently pursuing his Masters in Sport and Athletic Administration from Gonzaga University.

Booth, a native of Post Falls, Idaho, was a 2-time Idaho state placer, 2-time National Qualifier, All-American at 174 lbs, and contributed to the NJCAA National Team Title in 2013 during his time at North Idaho College.

Booth then transferred to D II Coker University where he was a starter for two years with the Cobras and was an Academic All-American.  Booth has since made coaching stops at Darlington High School in South Carolina and at Central Valley High School in Washington State on his way to Ellsworth.

Panther wrestling took ten qualifiers to the NJCAA National Tournament this past season, two of which competed for the national title.  Panthers secured the 5th place slot, making it ECC's fourth top 5 finish in five years.  Panther wrestling welcomed new head coach, Tyson Springer, in May after the departure of long-time ECC head wrestling coach, Cole Spree.
