Ellsworth Men Battle Kirkwood

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Kirkwood CC came to Dittmer Gym Wednesday and left with a 59-45 win against Ellsworth CC.  The visitors took a 29-18 halftime lead and finished off the victory in the final 20 minutes.

The Panthers struggled to score, shooting only 31 percent from the field and making just 2-of-21 3-point attempts.  They did a good job of taking care of the basketball, however, with a season-low nine turnovers.

Rich Ashu, who was coming off his best scoring game of the year in the previous game against DMACC, nearly doubled that output with a team-high 13 points, making 6-of-9 shots from the floor.  Josh Kamara joined Ashu in double figures with 10.  ECC leading scorer Adam Jackson failed to reach double digits for the first time this season, scoring seven points.  Jackson did have five assists and three steals.  Junior Bodden led the Panthers with eight rebounds.

Now, the Panthers go to Council Bluffs to face off with Iowa Western this Saturday.
