NIACC Men Score Late to Nip ECC

MASON CITY, IOWA -- A late field goal by Jaden Horton broke a tie and allowed NIACC to escape with a 61-58 ICCAC victory over visiting Ellsworth Wednesday night in the NIACC gym.  The game was even at 58-all before Horton's bucket with just 22 seconds left put the Trojans ahead for good.  The Panthers failed to score on their next possession and a free throw by NIACC provided the final margin.

Ellsworth played a strong first half, at one point leading by 13 points before settling for a 33-29 advantage at intermission.

Adam Jackson led all scorers with 23 points for the Panthers before he fouled out.  Jackson also contributed four assists and four steals.  He and Chase Smith each had two of ECC's five 3s for the game.  Junior Bodden chipped in nine points and Tony Alexander grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

The Panthers are back on the court Saturday when they take on Indian Hills CC at 3:00 in Dittmer Gym.
