Ellsworth Baseball Blanked in Nebraska

NORFOLK, NEBRASKA -- The Ellsworth baseball team saw its offense completely shut down in dropping both games of an ICCAC doubleheader to Northeast (Neb.) CC on Wednesday.  The Hawks took the games by identical scores of 10-0 and NCC pitching allowed only four base hits in the twinbill.

The first game was over in five innings and the Panthers lone hit was a single by Ybrahim QuevedoTrey Morris started for ECC and was touched up for all 10 runs and 12 hits in his 3 2/3 innings.  William Figueroa got the last out in the 4th inning.

Game two was more of the same -- stout pitching for Northeast and another 10-run shutout.  This time the Panthers managed three hits -- singles by Morris and Jake Kostenbauer and a double by TJ Truso.  Ellsworth used three pitchers.  Starter Jason Moist was tagged with the loss.  Broderick Bittle and Simon Victoriano were deployed in relief.  

The Panthers (11-15) will try to get back on track when they take on Iowa Central CC in doubleheaders Friday and Saturday in Fort Dodge.
